5 sec rule also applies to gummy bear vitamins in our house. always.
and JP dropped his gum on the floor of costco the other day, picked it up, put it back in his mouth on his way to throw it away. i almost died. there could not be a more disgusting public floor than the one at costco, other than public restrooms ofcourse.

1998. Hathaway Pines, CA. Spending the night at my bff’s house one night, freshman year of high school, we are scooping out ice cream for ourselves and her family. We were down to the bottom of the box of ice cream and her dad liked healthy sized servings. Somehow most of his serving ended up on the kitchen floor, but using that 5-second rule, we quickly scooped it up off the floor and back into his bowl. We served it, he ate it, and we’ve laughed about that story every year since then. We finally braved up and confessed out dessert shenanigans to her dad last year.
